My internal clock is much more accurate that Mommy and Daddy’s clock so I sometimes find it necessary to go sit by the door leading to the garage, and my puppy food, to remind Mommy and Daddy that it’s time to eat!
I'm a 9-week old yellow lab living in Bowie, Maryland.

I’ve discovered that there is a third dimension—up! Now that I’m a little taller and my head is the same height as the top of the coffee table, I’m having fun checking things out that Mommy and Daddy leave of the table like glasses, newspaper, etc.
I still like playing with my red and green ball.

We’re in what Mommy and Daddy call a soccer owner’s lockout. I chewed through the outer layer of my soccer ball and started getting into the stuffing, so Daddy took away my ball and said no more soccer until they buy another one (Mommy is going to try and stop by the store tonight). I can’t wait to be able to play soccer again.

Mommy was helping me with my “sit” command tonight. I sat still long enough for her to snap this photo.
It’s getting late and that can mean only one thing—it’s time to climb into Mommy’s lap and snuggle. Here is a video clip (7.2 Mb MPEG) of me climbing into Mommy’s lap (listen to me moan at the end).

Today Kazuko Soffen came to visit me. She was very nice. She bought me a chew toy that looks like a stick because she knows how much I like picking up sticks from the yard and chewing them. She also brought me some treats. We played in the yard and in the house. I hope she comes and visits again soon.

Since I love playing soccer so much, Mommy and Daddy came up with a soccer nickname for me—Melee. It’s a combination between Mia (Mom says I am a female soccer player after all) and Pelé. Here’s a photo of me taking a rest after a tough game of soccer celebrating the Terps winning the 2005 NCAA men’s soccer championship!

Mommy and Daddy received my pedigree from the AKC today. I think they now know why I sometimes seem to have springs for legs—my dog Dad’s name is Rebel Ridge Jumponforaride.

My breeder Mom, Terri, told Mommy and Daddy to freeze a washcloth for me, because I’m getting my big dog teeth. I really like chewing on my rope toys and the old socks that Daddy tied in knots for me, but I think the frozen washcloth is now my favorite toy. I lick and chew it until it melts, then Mommy puts it back in the freezer for me. I like running around with it in my mouth. Here’s a video clip (1.6 Mb QuickTime) of me running around “playing” with my new frozen treat that Daddy took of me tonight.

It was Mommy’s turn tonight to come home and feed me dinner so that meant we got to play soccer. Here’s a video clip (2.8 Mb QuickTime) of me showing off some of my moves.
When Daddy got home, it was time to nap with him on the floor. I really am like my Daddy because I can sleep in any position. I love to snuggle with him!
