Back home

[13 weeks, 5 days]

We came home today from our near week-long 840 mile journey through Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and Connecticut. Much to Mommy and Daddy’s surprise, I now go to the back door when I need to go potty. I haven’t learned how to speak to let them know that I have to go out, but it’s a start.

I had a chance to try out my new food and water bowl holder that Nana and Gandpa J Vennell bought me for Christmas.

Because I was gone for a week, I had to let everyone in the yard know that I’m still queen of the hill.

During our visit to Niantic, Connecticut, I had a chance to snuggle with Auntie Kara and the mini Cooper.

Here is a video clip (3.3 Mb QuickTime) of me opening up one of my Christmas presents.

Fun day

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005

[3 months, 2 days]

Daddy was sick again today. I decided to take a nap before dinner so that after I eat, I can help Daddy put together one of his Christmas presents.

Daddy and I worked pretty hard putting together the garden cart that Mommy bought him for Christmas, so we decided to take a break.

I was so tired after helping Daddy that I didn’t want to go outside to go potty before going to bed so Mommy had to carry me. Good thing I’m not full grown yet.

Feed me

[11 weeks, 6 days]

My internal clock is much more accurate that Mommy and Daddy’s clock so I sometimes find it necessary to go sit by the door leading to the garage, and my puppy food, to remind Mommy and Daddy that it’s time to eat!

3-D

[11 weeks, 5 days]

I’ve discovered that there is a third dimension—up! Now that I’m a little taller and my head is the same height as the top of the coffee table, I’m having fun checking things out that Mommy and Daddy leave of the table like glasses, newspaper, etc.

I still like playing with my red and green ball.

Lockout!

Friday, December 16th, 2005

[11 weeks, 4 days]

We’re in what Mommy and Daddy call a soccer owner’s lockout. I chewed through the outer layer of my soccer ball and started getting into the stuffing, so Daddy took away my ball and said no more soccer until they buy another one (Mommy is going to try and stop by the store tonight). I can’t wait to be able to play soccer again.

It’s getting late so it must be time…to snuggle

[11 weeks]

Mommy was helping me with my “sit” command tonight. I sat still long enough for her to snap this photo.

It’s getting late and that can mean only one thing—it’s time to climb into Mommy’s lap and snuggle. Here is a video clip (7.2 Mb MPEG) of me climbing into Mommy’s lap (listen to me moan at the end).

Visit from a friend

[11 weeks]

Today Kazuko Soffen came to visit me. She was very nice. She bought me a chew toy that looks like a stick because she knows how much I like picking up sticks from the yard and chewing them. She also brought me some treats. We played in the yard and in the house. I hope she comes and visits again soon.

Melee

[10 weeks, 6 days]

Since I love playing soccer so much, Mommy and Daddy came up with a soccer nickname for me—Melee. It’s a combination between Mia (Mom says I am a female soccer player after all) and Pelé. Here’s a photo of me taking a rest after a tough game of soccer celebrating the Terps winning the 2005 NCAA men’s soccer championship!
